Project Pivot is a NYC DOE initiative. The focus of Project PIVOT is to have Community Based Organizations (CBOs) engage young people during a pivotal point in their development to guide and nurture them towards their full potential. Activities designed by community partners to support identified students are aligned with, and reinforced by the five pillars of Project PIVOT. Participants examine themselves and explore new possibilities to identify true passions in their lives and to turn obstacles they have faced into opportunities for growth. Participants are expected to have strong moral principles and be upstanding citizens in their school and home communities.
buildOn is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through education and service learning. buildOn engages students in service in-class, on weekends and after school through their use of an IPARD model encouraging students to investigate issues that are important in their local communities, perform actions to combat these issues and then reflect on the work they did in their community. On a global scale, buildOn also fosters opportunities for students to travel to partner countries and build schools and empower global community members to take ownership of their educational paths.
VPA proudly partners with the CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) to provide our students with an exceptional college preparatory program. CBI is a dynamic and student-focused initiative dedicated to guiding students on their journey to higher education. Through CBI, our students receive personalized counseling, workshops, and resources to help them navigate the college application process successfully. This invaluable partnership ensures that each Validus student is well-equipped to pursue their dreams of higher education and a brighter future. CBI's commitment to fostering academic and personal growth aligns perfectly with our mission at VPA.

Students at Validus Preparatory Academy consistently receive acceptance letters from a diverse range of colleges, a testament to our unwavering commitment to college preparation.
